It is estimated that almost half of all adults living with diabetes are undiagnosed. Projections show that the number of people with type 2 diabetes will increase by almost 80% by 2050.

Individuals with type 2 diabetes are likely to suffer from a variety of long-term complications, which  significantly decreases their quality of life. Proper control and treatment of type 2 diabetes can lower associated risk factors while significantly improving quality of life and life expectancy.
